Owner of Miami Lakes Haagen Dazs responds!

As reported below, an inspector with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation ordered the Haagen-Dazs in Miami Lakes closed due to violations found that included RODENT issues.

It appears the owner doesn’t feel the inspection process was fair. By law he can appeal to the State.

Dear Jeff.
I just wanted to inform you that the shut down in our store was unjustified and handled improperly by an inexperienced inspector, the droppings that appear to be in some cases Chocolate Sprinkles where not visible at all in our food handling areas, 4 drops located insight a cabinet bellow soda machine (not in food handling areas) and 6 in the back room away from food should not be a reason for being shut after being in business for 22 years with “0″ violations and 99% ESP scores, those drops probably came from rodents that surround empty stores or other food places in the mall. All our products are kept frozen on coolers, dipping cabinets and walk-in freezers away from any contamination, Our Pest control company send a statement to the inspector and also show her all pest control invoices from 2 weeks before her visit, on top of that the pest control crew showed up while the inspector was there. We follow the highest cleanliness standards dictated by Haagen-Dazs franchise codes. After we clean the few drops or whatever it was we reopen next day normally after the inspector realized that everything was in perfect condition and the store spotless, The closing lasted only 3 hours. Please I really would like that the improper headline “Top D.D. Haagen-Dazs Miami Lakes” to be removed or that in some way you may rectify these incorrect statements.

Thanks.

  1. I’ve been a customer for many years and I frequent this store at least once a week, I believe that this place Haagen-Dazs Miami Lakes always been a clean and neat place, delivering a profesional service and friendly atmosphere including the best Ice Cream.

  2. While not being the “newest” store or cleanest, I believe this establishment is up to par and do infact frequent it. However, rodent droppings from any source (other stores or empty locale) is disgusting and I will not be returning to this particular store.
